Poem Two PND POEM TWO
PND what does is mean? Mad is how you think you’ll be
seen But this is so very untrue For your not mad, you are just
blue The baby crying makes you sad And if you shout, you feel
really bad You think why do I shout? The baby doesn’t know what its
all about There is help available for you But in your head you don’t know
what to do I must be mad I shouldn’t be
down Not with this new little life
around More often than none you will
cry You may not even understand why It is the effects of the PND
you are feeling And it’s your emotions the
illness is stealing What do I do? Shall I suffer alone? Or do I just cope by hiding at
home? Support is the one thing you
will need Husband, partner, family or a
sufferer like me Then of course there is the
Health Visitor She will offer support if you
need her The GP is there too For they can support and advise
what to do Counselling or antidepressant
pills Won’t be long term but just
until You make that wonderful
discovery That you are back on the road
to recovery Constant reassurance you’re not
going mad Is something I wish I had had You feel like you are mad most
of the time And can’t imagine yourself
feeling fine Feelings of failure always on
your mind But you will be able to put it
behind For antidepressants worked for
me They helped me to focus and
make me see I am not mad it’s PND I suffer 30 January 2003
